I have refunded everyone their monies……. The draft is no longer and i think i will never do one of these again. I will take my cards over to the card shows and either set up a table or have a friend of mines sell the cards for me. I learned alot about how people view things around here, and its not what it use to be. But, what the hell do i know anyways…. Everyone should have their money back by now, sorry i wasted your time.
My two cents:
You can’t please everyone no matter what you do. I thought your selection of cards available in the draft was fine (my only issue was the draft order – I do think it should have been a snake draft). I imagine that if you had posted the list first, you wouldn’t have had complaints from people on what cards were (or weren’t) available. You set a pretty high bar (unintentionally I’m guessing) given how much awesome trade bait stuff you seem to post on a weekly basis! Perhaps people were expecting a draft full of cards like that – but at a price of $23.00 I don’t think that would be entirely reasonable. Personally, I was fine with going ahead with the draft – I’ve wanted to participate in a draft like that for awhile now and never had the opportunity. As someone who has hosted many, many group breaks, I know that it can be frustrating when people complain (or even “suggest” things like I did) but just remember that most people on the blogs are good people – they want fair value (and each person’s definition of fair is completely different from my experiences) but don’t let one contentious draft ruin the blogging experience for you. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from hosting all those group breaks it’s this: be as open and forthright as you can upfront and don’t take complaints personally. You can’t always tell a person’s intentions via typed comments (i.e. good-spirited vs. anger, etc.).
I agree with what Mr. Nachos Grande 100%. In no means was I so upset that I wanted out of the whole deal. Anyways, I was still looking forward to the rest of the draft, but in what Chris said I agree that a snake style would have been better. No worries though man, if it isn’t worth it to you then it was totally your call to pull the plug and I hope you find a way to unload your cards with a little less stress involved.
Sorry to hear the news, I was looking forward to it personally and was fine with the selection for 20 bucks to bolster my collection a bit. It definitly beats any blaster i could buy. Would it be a problem if you kept my money and i could pick 15 cards (not all hits considering that wouldnt have happened in the draft) and we could complete the transaction that way? Let me know.
I am also sorry to hear this. Some people collect what they want, some people collect what is worth the most money, some people do a good job of mixing the two. I put in $23 and the first card I picked is $8 in the Beckett Almanac. I didn’t pick it because it was valued at $8, I picked it because I like Reggie Jackson. There was more than enough value in the lot to make your $23 back. Sure I was sad that there was not a T206 Wagner in there…but is it really wise to expect that for a $23 buy in? I am finally getting back into collecting after taking about a year off, and eve though this didn’t work out, I cannot wait to trade with the Wicked one again. we have only traded 2 or 3 times, but they have been great trades. I ain’t mad atcha bro!

If you decide to bring this back. I’m in.
I wasn’t even involved but reading about the whole thing makes me sad.
