30 year old cardboard, peak your ears up a bit!! Chris Mullins aka Dream Teamer will be down here signing autographes for free on Friday…..In Sunrise, at the Sawgrass Mills Mall!! I know for sure that i will be there in person waiting to meet this Hall of Famer!! If any of my peeps from South Florida are going to make it, please feel free to email me for all the info!! I for one can’t wait and i’m trying to find a jersey but it might be a little late for ebay. We’ll just have to play it by ear…. Hey a basketball would also look great!! Holla!!

If there’s one old school player that i can say i would be proud to my kids looking up to it would have to be Harmon Killebrew. He was such a role model for allot of people in the Twin Cities and then some. So here’s my little but growing collection of auto’s and relics of the “Killa”. RIP Mr. Killebrew, we all miss you allot down here!!

Billy Pierce is a former left-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played most of his career for the Chicago White Sox. He was the team’s star pitcher between 1952 and 1961, and was named the American League’s top pitcher in 1956 and 1957 after being runner-up in both 1953 and 1955. A seven-time All-Star, he led the American League (AL) in complete games three times despite his slight build, and in wins, earned run average (ERA) and strikeouts once each. He pitched four one-hitters and seven two-hitters in his career, and on June 27, 1958 came within one batter of becoming the first left-hander in 78 years to throw a perfect game.

He was one of the principal figures in Chicago’s fierce rivalry with the New York Yankees; particularly notable were his matchups with Whitey Ford, with the two left-handers opposing one another as starters 14 times from 1955 to 1960. Pierce’s record suffered from pitching so much against New York – who he faced more often than any other team, when the Yankees dynasty was at its peak; although his career record against New York was only 25–37, that was still slightly better than the 27–41 mark compiled by National League (NL) championship teams over 11 World Series against the Yankees during the same period.

After joining the San Francisco Giants in 1962, Pierce played a pivotal role in helping them win the NL pennant, going 12–0 in home games and getting a three-hit shutout and a save in a three-game tie-breaker against the Los Angeles Dodgers to clinch the title. His 1,999 career strikeouts were the fifth most by a left-hander when he retired, and his AL total of 1,842 ranked ninth in league history. He also ranked tenth among left-handers in career wins (211), sixth in games started (432) and games pitched (585), eighth in shutouts (38) and ninth in innings pitched (3,306⅔). He holds the White Sox franchise record for career strikeouts (1,796), and his club marks of 186 wins, 2,931 innings and 390 starts are team records for a left-hander.

TTM From da Boxxx…..

This was one of my goals this year to get back into TTM, that said i put about 20 letters in the mail about a week ago and the returns are starting to come back in. The first return was Mr. Curt Simmons one half of the “Whiz Kids” the Philadelphia Phillies’ 1950 National League championship team. He is the youngest surviving player from the team. Mr. Simmons played for four teams in his great career and was a 3 time all-star. Also won a World Series title in 1964 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Thank you Mr. Simmons for taking the time and signing these cards for me.

An Open Letter to the Card Blogging World…..

As i sit here still reeling from the blog post over at Tomahawk Chopping – Cardboard & More!. Derek you see traded with one of the biggest names out there, Bready. But Bready never sent him cards back, which sucks and made me wonder…. I for one am not a prefect person and this is the reason for this open letter……. First off let me say that i know i have a few pending trades out there and they’ve all been packaged and just need to make it to the post office. And i know I’m kind of a slow trader but that’s because i live a really busy life not leaving much time for a allot of thing i would want to do. I’m sorry i take long but please know that i always make the wait worth it. Anyways this is for if i have ever forgotten someone to send back cards now would be the time to talk. After reading the blog post Derek wrote it really hit home and thinking back at the times a ended up with the short end of the stick really felt shity. So if i ever forgot to send you back something for something you sent my way please let me know. And i’m truly sorry for forgetting it’s not me to cheat someone. And for those out there that have done it to someone take the time and try to make it up to that person cause one day it will happen to you and the feeling really sucks.

And from this a lesson hopefully will be learned…….. Be kind to your fellow blogging mates nd be good to each other, were a family around here and we wanna keep it this way. And remember your only as good as your word!!

Gary Carter’s health takes turn for worse

Gary Carter’s health has taken a turn for the worse.

The 57-year-old Hall of Fame catcher, diagnosed last May with a malignant brain tumor, received results of his latest MRI exam

Thursday, according to the online journal of his daughter, Kimmy Bloemers.

She writes: “I wish I could say that the results were good. … There are now several new spots/tumors on my dad’s brain. I write these words with tears because I am so sad for my dad.”

“Dr. Jimmy Harris will be coming to my parent’s house this evening to talk to the family about the next step,” she wrote.

Carter had the MRIs Friday in North Palm Beach, Fla., and the results were sent to his doctors at Duke University for evaluation.

A day earlier, he fell at a doctor’s appointment and completely tore a rotator cuff, Bloemers wrote, adding that he also fell on Christmas Eve.

“It is very painful and needs surgery, but all dad can do right now is rehab to heal,” she wrote.

First let me say its been a couple of crazy weeks for me and i haven’t had the time to sit down much less blog about cards. Started a new job and been in training for about 2 weeks now. It all come together on Thursday in which i will oversee a 380 unit property in Palm Beach. So looking forward to grabbing the reins and taking off with it. So it should be back to normal around here by the weekend. I have packages ready to hit the post office and mad things to post about from trades to TTM returns. I can’t wait to start posting again. So please bare with me and keep checking in often.

In other new i just completed a trade with the man who runs the great blog Crinkly Wrappers. I let him take all of my Adam Lind cards autos and relics, for five cards that really stand out in my collection. I haven’t sent Ted his package yet but its ready to go and sitting on my desk to be dropped off at the post office, sorry Ted i will get this out before the week is up. So here are the new five cards to be added to my collection. Thanks again T!! Looking forward to more trading soon!!

Group Break: Crinkly Wrappers

Well the homie over at Crinkly Wrappers had a group break some time back and this is my loot from the break. I loved all the cards i got from the break and this is my 2nd time joining his break which he goes all out for. Plus he’s a great host, he offered up a signed baseball to fill his break.
