Sometimes things in life are really funny…… You could be having a bad day and just one thing can turn it around for you. Just as was the case last week, as most of you that read the blog on a daily basis I was having major car toubles. Well after a new Transmission and 2,000 dollars later, I’m back to my everyday life. Still in debit tho….. Anyways when i was having car issues my great wife taught it would be good to get away from it all for a little while and what better place than the South Florida Fair which happens to be in our back yard of Palm Beach. All the food i could eat and all the rides for the kids was a great time had. Plus the car show and Kansas playing live was also cool. But here’s the really cool part of the night. While i was trying my luck at dunking that damn clown that was calling me all kinds of names. I glanced over at the game with the milk bottles in which you have to knock them down with a baseball to win and heard a loud pop. And i turn around I see Chris Volstad throwing a baseball that looked at least in the low 90’s popping against the backdrop. I quickly told my wife that the guy over there was Chris Volstad and she said no way, that’s not him. So I did what any fan would have done and grabbed my iPhone and went up to him and asked him if I could take a picture with him. He looked stunned that anyone knew who he was, but I knew right way who he was. He said sure and that he liked my visor and thanks for being a fan. I wished him luck and told him I would see him at Spring Training. He smile and said bye. And I thanked him for his time. So for a couple of hours on that day my mind was clear of all issues in life thanks to my great wife, I love you babe!! Wicked out!!-
Tis one is going to be easy as pie……I’m going to pick a blogger to send a number to, then when the winning number is said we will have a winner, For what you ask? A 2005 Donruss Leather and Lumber baseball set!! All you guys have to do is guess a number between 1 and 755. You get one guess a day, at the end of two days if the number is not picked we will go with the closet to that number. If we have two people who guess the low number and the high number we will go to a playoff. 1 to 10 who picks the winning number or comes closet to it will win. Good luck my peeps, i hope y’all are enjoying this as much as i am.h
Just wondering if anyone would like to take part in this 19 box break…. If i get enough people i’ll make it happen!! Just leave me a conment and your ideas!! I’m Crazy!!!
Talking to a few of the bloggers out there, they taught that 19.00 Bucks a team would be a great price for a 19 box break, how does that sound?? let me know, i need at least 10 peeps to sign up!!
Here’s me trying to pimp out a contest for my good homie over at 30-Year Old Cardboard….. You see Brian and me go back like “arm and hammer”. Anyways he’s running a really cool contest over at his blog and i wanted to let ya’ll know about it…..
Contest Time – ‘Pick The Award Winners’
Yep. Another fun contest being held by your good friend at ’30-Year Old Cardboard’.
I did this contest at the end of the last two seasons and it was very fun to see who everyone was predicting to win the post-season awards. So this year I’ll be holding a similar contest with just a slight change in how it will be played.
Onto the rules. To qualify for the contest all you have to do is select who you think will win the Rookie Of The Year awards, Cy Young Awards, and Most Valuable Player award in both leagues. Each correct answer will earn you 2 points. To make things interesting, I will also award an additional point if you correctly name the second place player for the 2 MVP awards. In total you have to submit 8 players and designate who will finish in first and second place in the MVP race.
A correct entry will look something like this:
AL ROY –
NL ROY –
AL Cy –
NL Cy –
AL MVP Winner –
AL MVP 2nd –
NL MVP Winner –
NL MVP 2nd –
Entries are due by midnight on Saturday so get your homework done and submit your picks quickly so you’re eligible to win.
And what is the prize, you ask?
How about this? A box of 1988 Donruss baseball cards – 36 packs in total!!
Sound like fun? Then submit your picks into the comments section of this post. Good Luck!!!
Make sure you guys sign up because it’s not everyday that you can break up a box of 1988 Donruss, And make sure to tell him the Don sent y’all!!

Well let me start by saying that it’s funny how things always seem to work them self out in the end…. You see i’ve meet Ronnie Brown twice already once at the Miami Beach Boat Show and then at the Fins Fan Fest two years ago…. But i never had a jersey of his until i saw one at TJ Maxx for under 30 bucks. So you know i jumped on it and said to myself just sit on it the time will come when he doing another free signing. And then boom… I find out yesterday that he was going to be signing at a mall 30 mins away from where i work. So i left work at 5 on the dot and got there about 5:45 the line wasn’t that long so i jumped right in…. At 6:15 i had my autographes and i was out. That’s just too easy…..
